Biography: Greg L. Rawlings was raised in Southern California and graduated from Riverside Polytechnic High School. In his youth Greg excelled at baseball, football and volleyball. He was President of his high school class and enjoyed summers in Newport Beach. At nineteen, after a year of traveling about the United States, Greg attended the University of Southern California graduating in 1981 from the business school with honors. Afterwards he earned a Masters of Business Taxation degree from the USC’s School of Accounting. For several years Greg was employed by Price Waterhouse as a senior accountant and specialized in the taxation of financial institutions. Greg prepared the audit report tax provision, SEC disclosures and corporate tax returns for a publically traded bank. Greg left Price Waterhouse to assist his father in a nationwide commercial painting operation. He has also provided independent financial controller services to small businesses engaged in containerboard, mass spectrometry and computer graphics. From 1995 to mid-2002 Greg was a partner in the RWR Group of Companies, a Southern California home building organization. Greg also served as the RWR Companies Chief Financial Officer. Greg’s responsibilities included management of offices in Los Angeles, San Diego and Reno employing sixty people and included oversight of financial statement combinations of thirty entities. Revenues over the time period at RWR exceeded $500 million and units constructed and sold exceeded 100 annually. Greg was intimately involved in arranging construction financing, contract negotiation, litigation and personnel hiring and termination. After the World Trade Center attacks and at age 45 Greg reevaluated his daily endeavors deciding to leave Southern California to raise his children in Idaho. Greg is presently consulting in land due diligence for FDIC private/ public structured transactions but spends much of his time reading investment periodicals, exercising and being “present” with his wife and children. Greg has traveled extensively in Central America and South America, driving his single-owner 1975 Jeep CJ5 to Lima Peru. Favorite places he has visited include the Petén in Guatemala, the Darién in Panama and the Gran Sabana in Venezuela. Greg’s favorite authors are Ayn Rand, Charles Dickens and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. He recently celebrated his seventeenth wedding anniversary. Greg, his wife Enid and his two children live in Sun Valley Idaho and enjoy kayaking, cycling, hiking and many winter sports.
